Montjuïc, a birds-view of Barcelona

Montjuïc is a large hill in the southern part of Barcelona that overlooks the whole city in all directions. It harbors a huge cemetery at its eastern slopes that is traversed using a never-ending serpentine road, at least so it seems to a rambler that has been forced off the highway by two MC cops and shoved into that place 😀

The Montjuïc was selected as the site for several of the venues of the 1992 Summer Olympics, centered on the Olympic stadium. Unfortunately the economic crisis in Spain has forced the decision makers of the city to cut down on maintenance and the most obvious result to me is that the swimming stadium has been sealed off in order to hide the decay but in the process one of the best views of Barcelona has been blocked out, and that is a disgrace.
