Paúles de Sarsa-Barcelona

May 20 2018 Paúles de Sarsa-El Grado
In Paúles de Sarsa i broke out from the GR-1 as I had practically no cash and I realised that there was a real risk that my credit card wasn’t going to be of any use to me in the coming days. Thus I started walking east to southeast in as straight a line as possible first towards Bárcabo and then Naval to end up for the night at the motel in El Cruze in El Grado. Nice accommodation. Even nicer evening meal.

May 21 El Grado-Benabarre
A2211 towards Benabarre. In La Puebla de Castro to the south on a lane that connectes with the N123 that leads to Benabarre. A nice and civilised place that had both an ATM and several bars and small hotels.

May 22 Benabarre-Alfarrás
N230 to the south towards Saganta and Alfarrás. Found a guest house by the roadside that also had a restaurant.

May 23 Alfarrás-Tárrega-Villagrassa
C26 eastward towards Balaguer. C53 southeast towards Tárrega. Decent hotel with a bar.

May 24 Vilagrassa-Igualada
N11a. Tried to plea bargain for the price at the first hotel en Igualada without success. Found another, cheaper, hotel a mile further towards the city center.

May 25 Igualada-Montserrat-Terrassa
N11a. C58. A guy showed me the way to the hotel where he was going to spend the night and they had a room to me too.

May 26 Terrassa-Tibidabo-Barcelona
Barcelona was packed with people and no hotel were to be found. In the end I had to bite the bullet and put up 120 EUR for a room at a business hotel close to the Barceló Sants railway station after having tried to sleep in the street around the rambla (as many do in Barcelona) for a couple of hours 🙂

May 27-30 Hostal Paris in barrio Gótico at the main rambla
Very pleasant days and very cheap lodging.

May 28 Barcelona-L’Hospitalet-El Prat-Sitges. Quite a distance! It was dark and started to rain before I arrived at Sitges.

May 30 2018 Returning home
Caught a Norwegian Air Shuttle to Copenhagen and entered my apartment in Helsingborg at around 2300.
