Tramuntana, rugged and beautiful

The Tramuntana mountain range is found in the northwestern part of Mallorca. This area is very popular among trekkers and contains several signposted trails. The area also houses renowned villages such as Valldemossa, Deiá, and Sóller, villages crowded with picturesque houses and with beautiful, cozy small sandy beaches (calas).

Mallorca to me seems to be a bit overlooked by trekkers. It actually offers very good walking in exiting and varying environments, in the mountains as well as in the country-side. And Mallorca as such is a precious old gem if you only steer clear of Palma Nova and the other party-till-you-drop places, and the food is nice as is the wine and people are friendly as often is the case in islands.
