Walking in Andorra

Andorra offers a great variety of walking trails ranging from long-distance paths (GR) which cut right through the micro state vertically from Spain to France (GR-7) and horizontally through the Pyrenees from Cadaqués to San Sebastián (GR-11), to mid-range trails (PR) always less than 50 kilometers in length, but there are also many local paths of varying length and degree of difficulty.

Often you can go by bus right to where your trail begins but sometimes you might want to catch a cab for the last couple of kilometers especially if the alternative is to walk on asphalt.

Whenever you start walking in Andorra you’ll soon find yourself high up in a mountain with astonishing views wherever you look. The paths are often very good but demanding and walking poles are of great help not at least when the track goes downward.
